Results - 2019 QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track and Field Finals

Year Two Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS) are the new Track and Field champions at the SVG Community College, as they ran away with the 2019 QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track and Field Finals, on Friday 29th March 2019, amassing a total of 359 points. The Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE) took the second spot with 249 points while Year One DASGS placed third with a total of 225 points. Year Two DASGS also walked away with the Female and Male Divisional honors, with a tally of 183 points in the female division and 155 points by their male counterparts.

Odeshia John of Year One DASGS copped the award for the Female Meet Champion with 40 points; winning the High Jump event and placing second in the 400m, 1500m and Long Jump events. Tamara Woodley and Keiffer Bailey, both of Year Two DASGS were second and third respectively with 38 and 34 points.

Tilron Harry of Year Two DASGS grabbed the Male Meet Champion award with 32 points; winning the male Long Jump and placing second in the 200m and High Jump events. Javiel Saxon of Year Two DASGS placed second with 20 points while Truloni Mc Kenzie of DTVE placed third with 18 points.

Two records were broken during Friday's event. In the Female division, Odeshia John bettered the old High Jump record of 1.40m set by Angel John in 2018, as she achieved a jump of 1.50m. In the Male division, Troy Archibald broke the 60m dash record of 7.20 seconds that was set in 2017 by Raasikh John, with a sprint of 7.15 seconds.

The Division of Technical and Vocational Education won the coveted cheer-leading competition that entertained the patrons during the lunch break.

QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track and Field Finals

An exciting day of Track and Field events is in store, as the internal sporting activities for the 2018-2019 academic year at the SVG Community College culminate on Friday 29th March 2019, with the QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track and Field Finals at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with the March Pass of teams and short addresses from invited officials. The athletes from the defending champions Year Two Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS), American University of SVG, Year One DASGS, the Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE), the Division of Nursing Education (DNE), Just Graduated Combined and the Division of Teacher Education (DTE) will then get into action from 10:15 a.m., in what is expected to be the most keenly contested meet since 2015.

Twenty six events would be completed including the 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4X100m 4X400m, 4x200m, Medley Relay, Long Jump, High Jump and Shot Putt for both male and female.

Lunch time attractions include a presentation from BeFit Movement, a Cheer-leading competition and a DJ special.

Patrons at the event can also walk away with attractive prizes from the Mariners Hotel, French Verandah, BeFit Movement, SVG Brewery and LIAT.

2019 QuickCash Corp SVGCC Road Relay Results

Year Two DASGS, with students who were members of the 2018 Year One winning teams, dominated the 2019 QuickCash Corp. SVGCC Inter-Divisional Road Relay, when it ran off on Tuesday March 19th 2019. The seasoned second year athletes at the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS) copped the top spot in both the male and female divisional relays.

Year Two DASGS won the male division, in a smashing new record time of 48 minutes 54.47 seconds. The Year Two DASGS unit made up of Javiel Saxon, Simeon Greene, Khanroy Marshall, Troy Archibald, Arnel Horne and Kareem Harry ran only the first leg in the second spot, before Marshall transformed the race in his team’s favour, taking the lead early after the first change over, a lead they maintained from that point onward.

Year One Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE) came in second in a time of 52 minutes 05.06 seconds, while Year Two DTVE, placed third in 52 minutes 10.62 seconds.

In the female divisional Road Relay, Year Two DASGS are the new female champions, as they ran away from the pack to take the top honors from start to finish. Keifer Bailey, Tamara Woodley, Rachel Dalton, Gabrielle Benn, Shanyah Peters and Kelsey Marshall combined to complete the event in another new record time of 1 hour 7 minutes, 17.17 seconds, eclipsing the record set in 2018 of 1 hour, 8 minutes, 44.24 seconds. The Division of Nursing Education (DNE), went one better than in 2018, placing second in 1 hour, 20 minutes, 28.55 seconds, while Year One DASGS placed third in 1 hour, 21 minutes, 29.19 seconds.

The St. Vincent and the Grenandies Community College Inter-Divisional sporting activities will culminate next week. On Monday 25th March 2019, the College will stage its 2019 QuickCash Corp National Lotteries Track and Field Heats, while the Track and Field Finals will be staged on Friday March 29th. Both events would be held at the Arnos Vale playing field.

QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track Heats

Internal sporting activities for the 2018-2019 academic year at the SVG Community College will move into its penultimate day on Monday 25th March 2019, with the QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVGCC Track Heats.

The Track Heats will be held at the Arnos Vale Playing Field from 9:30 a.m. and will feature athletes from the Seven Teams: Two times Track and Field champions Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies, Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies, the Technical and Vocational Education, the Division of Nursing, the Division of Teacher Education, Just Graduated Combined and the American University of SVG.

Athletes will compete for the eight available spots in the Track and Field Final, in six events; 1500m, 60m, 800m, 100m, 400m and 200m events, for both the male and female divisions.

2019 Quickcash Corp. SVGCC Road Relay

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) will stage it's 2019 QuickCash Corp. Inter-Divisional Road Relay on Tuesday 19th March 2019, beginning and ending at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education in Arnos Vale.

Twelve relay teams, one more than the 2018 record number, will compete for the top spots in the 2019 relay. Five female teams; The Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE), Year One Division of Arts Sciences and General Studies (DASGS), The Division of Nursing Education (DNE), the Division of Teacher Education (DTE) and Year Two Division of Arts Sciences and General Studies would compete in the female division of the relay.

The male division will feature seven teams including the DNE, Year One DTVE, Year One DASGS, Year Two DTVE, DTE, Year Two DASGS and Just Graduated Combined.

The route will take the athletes from the DTVE's Campus in Arnos Vale to Sekai in Arnos Vale. Leg two will begin at Sekai and end at the Villa campus. From the Villa campus to Facey Trading in Glen constitute leg three. Athletes running leg four will leave Facey Trading and go to the Blue Lagoon and back to Howard's Marine. The relay continues from Howard's Marine in Villa to Villa Lodge Hotel gap. The relay's last leg begins at the Villa Lodge Hotel and ends at the DTVE campus in Arnos Vale.

Year One DASGS are the reigning champions in both male and female divisions.

French Verandah SVGCC Cricket

The French Verandah SVGCC team defeated Victors Two in their sixth game of the National Sunday League 50 overs competition on Sunday 17th March 2019 at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat, Victors Two were dismissed for 154 in 27.4 overs. Hector Cordice and Ian Allen both scored 33 each. Reynolson Hillocks 3 for 55 and Aleon Ceasar 2 for 28 got amongst the wickets for the college lads.

The French Verandah SVGCC replied with 158 for 4 in 23.1 overs. Tilron Harry was left 25 not out while Oniel Mason added 27. Kishore Shallow 2 for 42 and Ian Allen 2 for 52 were the wicket takers for Victors Two.
