2020 SVGCC Invitational Heats and Finals Postponement

The SVG Community College and its Sports Department wish to advise that the QuickCash Corp. National Lotteries SVG Community College Invitational Heats and Track and Field Finals have been postponed.

In line with the postponement of similar activities by the Ministry of Education and various national sporting associations across the country, the SVG Community College will also put at the highest importance, the health and safety of all its stakeholders in the field of sports.

Alternative dates for these events will be communicated in due course.

2020 SVGCC QuickCash Corp. Invitational Volleyball and Road Relay Results

Defending champions, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two eased to a commanding straight sets win over the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One, in the final of the 2020 QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Volleyball Competition that culminated on Friday 13th March 2020 at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.

The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two retained the title winning 25-17, 25-14, 25-22. In the third place playoff which preceded the final, the Medical Schools Combined took the third spot with a three sets to one win over the Division of Technical and Vocational Education 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22.

In the prize giving ceremony that followed, Alliyah Laborde was the Most Outstanding Female Player from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education, Natalie Aremu took that award for the Medical Schools Combined, Stephanie Ross for the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One and Ettonia Antrobus for the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two.

The Most Valuable Male Players Awards went to Kemuel John of the Division of Technical and Vocational Education, Hamza Sheikh for the Medical Schools Combined, Jamion John for the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One and Ronaldo Franklyn for the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two. Ronaldo Franklyn was also awarded the MVP of the Final, Ettonia Antrobus the Most Valuable Female Player of the Tournament while Jamion John copped the Most Valuable Male Player of the Tournament accolade.

QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Road Relay 2020

Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies retained the Female Road Relay crown while the Division of Technical and Vocational Education took the Male category when the SVG Community College staged it 2020 QuickCash Corp. Invitational Road Relay on Friday 13th March , that started and ended at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education in Arnos Vale.

Year Two Arts Sciences and General Studies won the female division in 1 hour, 19 minutes 36.82 seconds. The Division of Nursing were second in 1 hour, 23 minutes 03.80 seconds and the Division of Technical and Vocational Education Year Two 3rd in 1 hour, 27 minutes 54.38 seconds.
In the male division, the Division of Technical and Vocational Education Year Two won in a time of 52 minutes, 20.20 seconds, the Division of Technical and Vocational Education Year One were second in 54 minutes, 49.69 seconds and Year Two Arts Sciences and General Studies 3rd in 58 minutes, 45.22 seconds.

2020 SVGCC QuickCash Corp. Invitational Volleyball - Day Five schedule

The second round of the 2020 QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Volleyball Competition will culminate on Wednesday March 11th, with the round’s four remaining matches. Up for grabs are the places in the competition’s finals, which will take place on Friday 13th March at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.

At 1:15 p.m., the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two will come up against the Division of Technical and Vocational Education. Match two from 2:00 p.m. brings together the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One and the Medical Schools Combined. At 2:45 p.m., the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One clash with the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two, after which at 3:30 p.m., the Division of Technical and Vocational Education lock horns with the Medical Schools Combined.

Going into Wednesday’s matches, the defending champions, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two are ahead of the pack with nine points. The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One are second on six points and a set difference of positive one, the Division of Technical and Vocational Education are third on six points and a set difference of negative one, while the Medical Schools Combined are fourth on 3 points.

French Verandah SVGCC National Cricket Result Number Five

The French Verandah SVG Community College qualified to the Quarter Finals of the National Cricket Association’s National Fifty Overs First Division Competition for the fifth consecutive year when they stopped Group A leaders, Smashers, by 33 run in a gripping low scoring encounter at Stubbs on Sunday 8th March. The French Verandah SVGCC rallied from 50 for 7, due to 45 runs 8th wicket partnership between Azar Willams 26 and Daniel Bobb 11. The college unit was eventually dismissed for 108 in 30.4 overs.

Rohan Ash was the pick of the Smashers bowlers taking 3 for 28. In reply, Smashers were in tatters at 18 for 6, from which they never recovered, to be eventually dismissed for 75 in 21.2 overs. Joelano Neil top scored with 36. Azar Williams 3 for 21 and Reynolson Hillocks 3 for 22, Aleon Ceasar 2 for 6 and Jerden Jacobs 2 for 22 , all bowled well to set up the win for the French Verandah SVGCC. The Quarter Final match is slated for Sunday 22nd March 2020.

2020 SVGCC QuickCash Corp. Invitational Volleyball - Day Five Results

Defending champions, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two and their Villa campus counterparts, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One, will contest the final of the 2020 QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Volleyball Competition on Friday 13th March at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.

They earned their shot at championship honors after results went their way on the last day of preliminary action yesterday. The defending champions, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two ended the preliminary round at the top of the standing with fifteen points after they defeated the Division of Technical and Vocational Education 25-9, 25-16, 25-17, as well as a straight sets win over the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One 25-21, 25-14, 25-12 Wednesday.

The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One however prevailed in a five setter, that decided the other finalist, against the Medical Schools Combined 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-8, 15-6. The Medical Schools Combined had earlier defeated the Division of Technical and Vocational Education 25-15, 18-25, 28-26, 25-18.

The championship game on Friday between the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One and Two will be played from 3:30 p.m. The third place playoff will precede the final from 2:30 p.m. between the Division of Technical and Vocational Education and the Medical Schools Combined. A prize giving ceremony will follow the two matches.

QuickCash Corp. SVGCC Invitational Road Relay 2020

The SVG Community College will stage it 2020 QuickCash Corp. Invitational Road Relay on Friday 13th March, from 9:30 a.m., beginning and ending at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education in Arnos Vale.

Ten relay teams will compete for the top spots in the 2020 relay. Five male teams; The Division of Technical and Vocational Education Year One and Two, Year One Arts Sciences and General Studies, the Division of Teacher Education and Year Two Arts Sciences and General Studies.

The female division will also feature five teams from the Division of Nursing, the Division of Technical and Vocational, Year One Arts Sciences and General Studies, the Division of Teacher Education and Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies.

The route will take the athletes from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education in Arnos Vale to Sekai in Arnos Vale. Leg two will begin at Sekai and end at the Villa campus. From the Villa campus to Facey Trading in Glen constitute leg three. Athletes running leg four will leave Facey Trading and go to the Blue Lagoon and back to Howard's Marine. The relay continues from Howard's Marine in Villa to Villa Lodge Hotel gap. The relay's last leg begins at the Villa Lodge Hotel and ends at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education.

Year Two Arts Sciences and General Studies are the reigning champions in both male and female divisions.

2020 SVGCC QuickCash Corp. Invitational Volleyball - Day Four Results

Both teams from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies had to come from behind to secure wins on Friday 6th March 2020, when the second round of the QuickCash Corp. SVG Community College Invitational Volleyball Competition 2020 got on the way.

The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team One came from one set down to defeat the Division of Technical and Vocational Education Combined three sets to one; 25-27, 25-10, 25-17, 25-21.

The second match-up on Friday, produced the competition's first five setter, as the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Team Two came from two sets down to edge the Medical Schools Combined three sets to two. The Medical Schools Combined took the first two sets 25-11, 25-23, before the defending champions hit back to win the last three sets 25-23, 25-17, 15-7.

This round will be completed on Wednesday 11th March with the four remaining matches.
