More Students Benefit from the Mustique Charitable Foundation
One day after marking 62 years of formalised teacher training, the Division of Teacher Education (DTE) at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) had another reason to celebrate.
On Thursday, 29 October 2026, eight second-year students enrolled in the DTE became the latest beneficiaries of the generosity of the Mustique Charitable Foundation (MCF). The students were presented with bursaries totalling US$11,042.00 to assist with expenses related to their teaching practicum.
At the handover ceremony, Dr. Marise Butler, Dean of the DTE, expressed gratitude to the MCF for its continued commitment to supporting teacher education, noting that the bursary initiative is now in its sixth year. She urged the recipients to ensure that the funds are used to acquire teaching resources to strengthen their classroom practice.
Finance Manager of the SVGCC, Mrs. Nicole Byron, congratulated the students and acknowledged that the bursaries would help ease some of the financial demands associated with their studies. She also encouraged them to view the support from the MCF as an affirmation of the confidence placed in their potential.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College thanks the Mustique Charitable Foundation for its ongoing partnership and contribution to the development of future educators.
