WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) is working on its Self-Study for Accreditation.
- Self-Study = a chance to reflect on how we do things, grow, and improve.
- Accreditation = official recognition that the College meets high-quality education
standards.

WHY DOES ACCREDITATION MATTER?
- Accreditation shows commitment to quality education.
- It helps students succeed and makes credits transferable.
- It builds trust and recognition for the SVGCC locally and internationally.
- It creates opportunities for partnerships with other institutions.
WHY CONDUCT A SELF-STUDY?
- To identify strengths and weaknesses of the College
- To ensure the College meets the National Accreditation Board (NAB) standards. There
are five (5) standards:
1. Mission and Purpose – The College has a clear purpose and direction that is
understood by everyone.
2. Effective governance, leadership and administration – Leadership, policies, and
management systems are effective.
3. Teaching and Learning – Programmes support student learning and success.
4. Planning and Institutional Effectiveness – Students have access to facilities,
guidance, and adequate learning resources.
5. Continuous Quality Improvement – The College evaluates itself and takes action to
improve. - To plan improvements and ensure quality continues.
HOW CAN STUDENTS SHINE IN THE JINGLE COMPETITION?
Your jingle should:
- Match the “Let’s ACE It” theme
- Be creative & original
- Be catchy & energetic
- Be 15–20 seconds long
