
CLINICAL PRECEPTORSHIP COURSE
This course prepares registered nurses to serve as clinical preceptors for nursing students and novice registered nurses. It introduces principles of clinical teaching, mentorship, supervision, and evaluation. Participants will explore adult learning theories, communication strategies, ethical and legal responsibilities, and professional role modeling. The course emphasises hands-on practice, reflective learning, and evidence-based approaches to support student development and enhance preceptor effectiveness. A key component includes guiding students in developing individualised nursing care plans using the nursing process.

Eligibility:
This course is designed for:
- Registered Nurses with three or more years of clinical experience who are currently in active practice and interested in mentoring and supervising nursing students or novice Registered Nurses.
- Retired Registered Nurses who have left active practice within the last five years and wish to contribute to nursing education through clinical preceptorship. Applicants must have current licensure with the General Nursing Council of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Participants should possess foundational clinical experience, a commitment to professional development, and a willingness to serve as role models and educators in healthcare settings.
