Resumption of Classes for Semester 1 2020

All returning students of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College are asked to note the following dates for the resumption of classes:

Division of Teacher Education 

  • September 14, 2020 - all Year 1 and Year 2 students.

Division Nursing Education 

  • September 07, 2020 - all BScN Years 1, 2, and 3 students.
  • Midwifery students resumed on August 31, 2020 and Nursing Assistant students are ongoing.

Division of Technical and Vocational Education 

  • September 07, 2020 all Year 2 students.
  • Year 1 students will be advised of an official start date following the release of CSEC results.

Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies 

  • September 07, 2020 for all Associate Degree Year 2 students.
  • CAPE Year 2 students will commence online classes on September 14. Face-to –face classes for second year CAPE students will resume when the CAPE Unit 1 results are released. The CAPE results will determine who will proceed to second year.
  • Year 1 students will be advised of an official start date following the release of CSEC results.

St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown’s (SJCK) compound received a colourful addition by way of a mural created by six students enrolled in the Fine Art, Design and Cultural Communications (FADCC) Associate Degree programme at the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC).

Courage to Hope

Most of us are experiencing the pressure of the COVID changes, life stressors, work stress and if we are to do a survey we can safely predict that the last five months have been the most stressful for all of us. This month in our newsletter we are continuing to provide tools and skills to help you rebuild your hope, resilience and manage stress levels as best as possible. We hope this piece provides support and we encourage you to reach out and utilize the counselling service for support. We are extending compassion and comfort to the many who are grieving and experiencing difficult emotions at this time. We encourage you to take the time to utilize the many tools and support systems around you to refuel and find balance.
