DTE Application Period Open

Our 2023 Division of Teacher Education (DTE) application period is now open. 

The Division is offering the following programmes this application period:

  • Associate Degree in Education (ADE)
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Technical and Vocational (TVET) - Industrial Arts

SVGCC Launches eLearning Improvement Project

We (SVGCC) have partnered with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) to launch an initiative geared towards enhancing the college’s online teaching and learning capacity, as part of COL’s Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC). The project is expected to span two major phases, the first focusing on pedagogy, course design and development, and the second, on the development of eLearning policies and procedures.

Bullock Wins SVGCC Essay Competition

Kerah Bullock has emerged the winner of our accreditation essay competition.

Bullock, a second-year student pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, earned $500 for her winning submission. Arianna Jardine from our Division of Arts, Sciences & General Studies claimed the $300 second place prize, while Gregory Hull, also from the Division of Arts, and Deanna Williams from our Division of Teacher Education tied for third place and were awarded $150 each. All entrants received certificates of participation and SVGCC-branded items.
Students were asked to write on the topic "The Importance of Accreditation to a Post-Secondary Institution”. Recently we relaunched our bid for accreditation. The college is currently conducting an institutional self-study under the theme “Rooted In Introspection, Growing For The Future: Let’s ACE it!”

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) seeks to recruit qualified and innovative educators to deliver instruction in various subject areas. Successful candidates will be offered an initial one-year contract and will be attached to the Engineering department of the Division of Technical & Vocational Education (DTVE).
