Opening of the SVGCC's Online Application System

Interested applicants are asked to note that the SVGCC’s online application system will open on TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST 2015 at 9:00 A.M. to allow for applications to the full-time programmes at the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS) and the Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE). The online application system can be accessed at

The Computer Lab at the SVGCC’s campus in Villa will be opened tomorrow, Tuesday 18th August 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon and then from 1:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. for persons who do not have access to a computer and/or the Internet, or who may need assistance completing the application. The Computer Lab will be opened for the remainder of the week between the hours of 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Once again, ensure that you have a valid and working email address that you can use to register to the system. You should also visit the Website to ensure that you meet the requirements for the programme/subjects you wish to pursue. While the general entry requirements for the SVGCC are five (5) CSEC subject passes including Engish A, the various progammes/subjects also have specific entry requirements that must also be met. The entry requirements for the various programmes at the DASGS and the DTVE can be found as follows:

OECS Business Solutions Think Tank and Hackathon To Produce IT Applications 

to Address Business Problems


The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is collaborating with Quintessence Consulting, e-Caribbean and other partners to spearhead an OECS Business Solutions Think Tank and Hackathon over the period 14 – 15 August. 

The Business Solutions Think Tank and Hackathon will bring together youth, teachers, business owners, business associations’ representatives, IT technocrats, thought leaders, and business professionals from across the ECCU via videoconference to brainstorm and develop and produce real functioning IT application solutions to challenges faced by the private and public sectors.

The forum seeks to enrich, invigorate and strengthen business strategy through the development of functioning Information Technology (IT) applications that address real business issues in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) which will be identified via survey.

The resulting perspectives, ideas and proposed application solutions will have the potential of being catalysts to invigorate businesses to move ahead further and faster.

Prizes for the Best Hackathon app will be awarded as follows:

·         1st Place –  EC$3,500

·         2nd Place – EC$2,500

·         3rd Place – EC$1,000


The ECCB, Quintessence Consulting, e-Caribbean and other partners view this forum as another step towards the vision of developing an entrepreneurial, innovative, competitive and technologically transformed business sector.

Commencement: Semester 1 (2015-2016)

Duration: Two years (part time) including two Summers

Cost of Programme: ECD$14,000


Pre Requisite:All applicants MUST hold an Associate Degree or a Certificate in Teacher Education or have previous certification in Counselling from a reputable institution or accredited programme.

Third Annual NTRC’s i Squared Competition

Third Annual NTRC's i2 Competition

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) will this year be hosting its third annual Idea and Innovation competition.  Students at the various Secondary and Tertiary institutions across St. Vincent and the Grenadines are invited to participate and contribute to the development of their country by introducing ideas that, if implemented will cut the cost of or reduce the delivery time of services offered to the public by local public service departments and agencies.
