Bachelor of Education Programme

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College through the Division of Teacher Education and in collaboration with the School of Education, UWI, Cave Hill, will once again offer the Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd) with Specializations in:

1.  Mathematics and

2.  Language Arts Education - Literatures in English Track

Teachers desirous of applying for either of these programmes may do so at www.cavehill.uwi.edu. On the second page of the application form, applicants must select the programme option Bachelor of Education (TLI), and insert St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College in the required slot.

All applicants are required to submit a hard copy of the application form along with other certified documents (birth certificate etc.) to the Registrar’s office at the Villa Campus of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College along with the sum of thirty dollars ($30) for the processing of documents.

The cost of the programme approximately EC$16,000.00.

Level 1 Mandarin Classes

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College will once again be offering a twelve (12) week Level 1 Mandarin course to the general public.  This is an introductory course that is intended for persons who are new to the Mandarin language.  Its aim is to teach students the basic concepts of Mandarin; including pronunciation, Chinese characters, speaking, listening, reading and writing.  Students will have the opportunity to practise using the language in some common real-life situations and will also be exposed to Taiwan and and Chinese culture.  At the end of the course, students should be able to introduce themselves and express themselves in simple sentences in Mandarin.  Level 1 Mandarin can also serve as a foundation course for continued studies in this language.

The course details are as follows:

Class Time:   Wednesdays 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Location:   SVGCC, Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (Villa)
Duration:   Twelve (12) weeks
Application Deadline:   Friday 22nd January, 2016
Cost:   $100 (payable by Friday 29th January, 2016)
