The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College is pleased to invite applications for the following programme scheduled to begin in September 2015. This programme is being offered on franchise from the Jamaica Theological Seminary.


Programme Designation: BA Guidance and Counselling

Commencement: Semester 1 (2015-2016)

Total number of credits: 63

Number of courses: 21

Duration: Two years (part time) including two Summers

Cost of Programme: ECD$14,000


Pre Requisite:All applicants MUST hold an Associate Degree or a Certificate in Teacher Education or have previous certification in Counselling from a reputable institution or accredited programme.

All interested persons can apply by downloading the JTS Application Form from the JTS website (, and bringing the completed form and all supporting documents to the SVGCC Villa campus, Division of Teacher Education, by 3:00 pm on July 31, 2015.  There is an application fee of EC$40.00.

Third Annual NTRC's i2 Competition

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) will this year be hosting its third annual Idea and Innovation competition.  Students at the various Secondary and Tertiary institutions across St. Vincent and the Grenadines are invited to participate and contribute to the development of their country by introducing ideas that, if implemented will cut the cost of or reduce the delivery time of services offered to the public by local public service departments and agencies.

Registration for the i2 competition opens on 10th September, 2015. Registration forms will be available at the NTRC's office, on their social media pages and on their website  The competition closes on 14th January, 2016. Click the links below for further details.

Young Employees Socialisation Training Programme

The Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking and Financial Services, and The Rotary Club of St. Vincent will hold a training programme aimed at empowering persons with the skills necessary to succeed in their professional lives.  The programme, entitled "Young Employees Socialisation Training Programme" will be held at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College - Villa Campus from Monday 3rd to Wednesday 12th August, 2015.

Application Period for the Part-Time Associate Degrees is Now Open

The St. Vincent  and the Grenadines Community College invites applications from persons interested in completing a part-time Associate Degree in the following areas:

  • Psychology 
  • Business Studies 
  • Law (Paralegal Studies)
  • Information Technology 

Application forms are available here and at the Registrar’s office at the campus in Villa.  Application forms, along with the relevant documents and an application fee of EC $20 should be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by/before Friday July 31, 2015.

Withdrawal of the 1 and 2 Cent Coins from Circulation

Effective 1 July 2015, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank will no longer issue one and two cent coins to commercial banks and the banks will no longer issue these coins to the public.  Businesses should not give back these coins as change.  A 'rounding' system will be used for cash transactions only.
